Longwave
A short retro-themed Pokemon-like for Godot Wild Jam #95!
Move through a forest and either defeat or recruit the various monsters throughout, level up, and challenge the boss at the end!
Battle is turn-based where the player always goes first, and the player has a limit of 3 monsters to their team.
The core of the battle is the Signal Frequency, which is represented in the top left. Every monster has a signal dedicated to it between 0 and 1, and reaching that signal enables an Amplify passive ability. Being near the enemy signal allows the player to Sync, which is how you recruit monsters. You can tell when you are near the enemy signal because the sine wave in the center of battle will start to glow green, and the monster will be less covered in static.
Moves are simplistic but have various modifiers that are explained below:
Pow - The base power of the move, modified by the monsters own Power and weighed against the target's Defense.
Acc - Accuracy
Guard - Reduce the next instance of damage by X.
Nudge - Comes in either Nudge- or Nudge+. Nudge- moves the battle frequency toward the enemy's signal, while Nuge+ moves it toward the player's signal.
Focus - Modifies the battle's Signal Focus. Signal Focus can be a value between -3 and 3 and starts at 0. Impacts Accuracy and Sync Gain.
Also I forgot to give the player a sprite and I ran out of time so they are a blue square haha
